It started to snow last night, just before James and I headed downtown to the coffee shop. They weren't just little flurries, but medium sized(because James' dad says they get much larger) fluffy flakes. It continued to snow all evening and when I woke up this morning around 8 a.m. there was a light layer of snow on the roofs and the trees and there was James' dad standing outside the door of James and I's studio holding a snow ball and despite my pushing and tugging, James wouldn't wake up.
They say the sky here looks like snow, that you can always tell. The sky is clouded and everything seems to have a bit more of blue tint than usual, just because of the light filtering through the clouds.
One of the great and wonderful things about Peterborough is there is a Quaker Oats factory in town, just two blocks from down town really and almost everyday when you walk outside no matter what side of inner city your are on it smells like cookies, you know brown sugar and oats. Oh man it smells yummy and boy is it great. Can you imagin getting up in the morning walking out onto the porch with your morning coffee, snow flakes falling and the smell of fresh baked cookies in the air.
It really is unbelievable.
Well James, his dad and I are driving down to Georgia at the start of next week, it was going to be tomorrow but our trip has been delayed. That's fine by me even though I am missing my family a bit, especially my Dad, and missing the square in Carrollton. I am excited about American Thanksgiving. My family will get to eat all together again at my gran's house which is exciting because we haven't done that in a year or two.
Canadian thanks giving is already past, it was October 8th, I can't imagine not having Thanksgiving between Halloween and Christmas, it just doesn't feel right.
But it's kind of neat because I get to have to Thanksgivings, though I missed the Canadian one this year. Usually James' mom goes all out and lights candles and has a big turkey on the table and what not and brussle sprouts, I love brussel sprouts.
Anyways, hope you are well and can't wait to be down south.
